Day 01: Arrival in Siliguri -Transfer to Darjeeling
Arrive in Siliguri at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (68 kilometres), Bagdogra Airport (69 kilometres), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (62 kilometres), and meet our tour representative. He will assist you in arranging an assisted transfer to Darjeeling.
Darjeeling is an enchanting hill station that is home to the World Heritage Train- the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) or the toy train. Darjeeling, located 7100 feet above sea level, has aromatic lush tea estates, plenty of tranquilly, breathtaking scenery, Buddhist monasteries, bustling streets, and several striking views.
Check into your hotel once you arrive in Darjeeling. You can relax for a while. The evening is free for you to spend however you see fit. Take a leisurely stroll up to the Mall or visit the local shopping centres to pick up some memorabilia. Darjeeling Overnight Stay
Day 02: Darjeeling sightseeing
The second day begins early. Get up around 3:45 a.m. and drive to Tiger Hill (11 km) to see the sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). One of the most popular attractions in Darjeeling, the route up the hill through the oak forests is extremely refreshing. It is best to leave early to avoid traffic jams on the way up the hill. When the sun rises behind the hill, it illuminates the Peak, giving it the appearance of an orange-colored ball. Allow your eyes to be drawn to the scenery and take in the tranquillity.
On the way back, stop by Ghoom Monastery, also known as Yiga Choeling monastery, and one of Darjeeling's oldest gompas. Belonging to the Buddhist Yellow Sect. The next attraction is the War Memorial, which is located in a well-kept garden bordered by Batasia Loop. The memorial is dedicated to Gorkha martyrs who gave their lives in wars to save their country. You can also take a ride in the toy train on the loop, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Return to the hotel for breakfast before continuing on to the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (closed on Sunday), and Peace Pagoda. The cable car ride on the Darjeeling Ropeway offers breathtaking views of Rangeet Valley. Day 03: A day’s visit to Mirik (58 km- 1 hr 30 min)
After breakfast, we'll go to Mirik for the day. Mirik, located near Darjeeling, is an off-the-beaten-path destination that is quickly becoming a popular tourist destination. There are a few scenic spots along the road from Darjeeling to Mirik where you can stop for photos. Beautiful Mirik town, with Sumendu Lake in the centre, is surrounded by verdant tea gardens, landscaped gardens, cardamom groves, and the mighty Himalayas. Spend the day here exploring the area by boating in Sumendu Lake and horseback riding.
Back to Darjeeling in the evening. Make a stop at Pashupati Market on your way back (on the India-Nepal Border). Antiques, souvenirs, foreign goods, and other trinkets are available.
The evenings in Darjeeling are free for exploring the Mall Road or the local market area. Darjeeling is where you'll spend the night.
Day 04: Darjeeling- Kalimpong (49 km- 1 hr 40 min) (Sightseeing)
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast. Check-out procedures will be followed by a transfer from Darjeeling to Kalimpong. The lush destination of Kalimpong is located at an altitude of 1250 metres above sea level in the Himalayan foothills.
Kalimpong, which offers a relaxed ambiance for a peaceful retreat, has some of the most stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. This bustling town features colonial-style architecture as well as Buddhist monasteries. The tranquillity that pervades the area draws visitors from all over. Complete the hotel check-in procedures upon arrival.
Leave the hotel room to begin sightseeing in Kalimpong, which includes popular attractions such as the Forest Museum (closed on Thursday), Deolo Hill, Hanuman Mandir- a Hindu temple with a large statue of Lord Hanuman near Durga temple, Dr Graham Homes, Durpin Monastery, Mangal Dham- another beautiful tranquil temple complex in Kalimpong that has temples of Lord Krishna and Guru Mangal Das Ji, Pisang Monastery, and Mangal Dham- another (Cactus Only)
Durpin Gompa, formerly known as Zangtok Pelri Phodang, is the largest monastery in Kalimpong, and is located on Durpin hill (1372 m). Kalimpong is a good place to spend the night.
Day 05: Kalimpong- Gangtok (73.5 km- 2 hrs)
Have breakfast today and drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, in the north-eastern state of Sikkim.
The beautiful and peaceful hill town of Gangtok, located at an elevation of 1600 metres above sea level, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country's North-eastern region. It attracts honeymooners from all over the world with its Buddhist monasteries, lush scenery, and pleasant climate. Hold hands and gaze out the window at the town's enchanting scenery. In addition to butterflies, Gangtok is home to a wide variety of colourful flowers such as orchids and rhododendrons.
Complete the hotel check-in procedures upon arrival. You can now relax for a while. The evening is yours to do as you please. If you want to go shopping or collect memorabilia, you can go to the very popular M G Road (Mall). Woolen clothing, Thangka paintings, handicrafts, and more are available. Stay in Gangtok for the night.
Day 06: Gangtok sightseeing
After a morning breakfast, the sixth day of the itinerary is dedicated to visiting Gangtok's most popular attractions. Visit to the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, the Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, White Hall, Flower Show, Ganesh Tok- a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha, situated on a small hill on the Gangtok-Nathula Road, Hanuman Tok, Tashi View Point, and Banjhakri Falls, one of the most beautiful falls near Gangtok, set amidst
If you enjoy nature, don't miss the Flower Exhibition Center's permanent flower show, which is another popular attraction. The floral exhibition site is close to Ride Park and White Hall, and it is a must-see for photographers. This exhibition area has a green house effect and features celosia, gerberas, roses, orchids, and other floral species. The discotheques in Gangtok can be visited late at night. Stay for the night.
Day 07: Day’s trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir
On the seventh day of the tour, you will visit Gangtok's nearby attractions. An outing to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir is planned for the day.
After breakfast, you will depart for your journey. Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, is located at an elevation of 12,400 feet above sea level. This is a 37-kilometer-long glacial lake located 37 kilometres from Gangtok. Brahminy ducks and other colourful migratory birds frequent this breathtaking attraction.
After exploring the Lake site, head to the day's next attraction, Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial War Temple, which is about 20 kilometres away. It began as a war memorial dedicated to soldier Harbhajan Singh of the 23rd Punjab Regiment, who died in the Indo-China War in 1962, and evolved into a temple.
Return to Gangtok in the evening. If time allows, you can go shopping on Mall Road or simply relax a bit in your room. (Please note that if there is a landslide or if we are unable to transport you to Tsomgo Lake, we will provide alternative sightseeing.)
Day 07: Gangtok to Siliguri for departure– Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (119) / Bagdogra Airport (126)
Today is the last day of your 8-day North East honeymoon package. Pack your belongings and get an on-time transfer to Siliguri – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey after breakfast.
